Ethos Architects Launches With a Name Rooted in KKT’s Legacy, Featured in Tulsa World

One of Oklahoma’s most respected architecture firms is entering a new chapter. After more than three decades serving communities across the state, KKT Architects has rebranded as Ethos Architects. The change reflects a natural evolution and a clear affirmation of identity, and it is featured in Tulsa World.

Why Ethos
The name Ethos comes from the Greek for “the characteristic spirit of a culture as expressed in its beliefs and aspirations.” It was chosen to reflect the values that have guided our practice for years: character, collaboration, creativity, and community. “This is more than a name change,” says CEO Sarah Gould. “It is a moment of growth, a renewed focus on the future, and a reflection of who we are as a firm.”

Grounded in legacy, focused on impact
Founded in 1989, the firm has grown in size and reach, with more than 70 professionals, offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, and a portfolio that includes schools, hospitals, corporate offices, libraries, and nonprofit campuses. Gould, who became CEO and sole owner in 2020, notes that Ethos better represents how we approach design with intention, responsiveness, and deep community commitment.

What stays the same
The people and principles clients rely on remain unchanged. Ethos retains its ownership, leadership team, office locations, and collaborative approach. “This rebrand has been a deeply collaborative process,” says COO Kate Cofer. “It reflects not only where we are going, but who we have always been. A team committed to quality, grounded in community, and driven by thoughtful innovation.”

Work with purpose
From major academic facilities like the new Bixby High School to civic and nonprofit projects such as Discovery Lab, Tulsa City-County Libraries, City Lights Village, Bethany Children’s Hospital 4-Bed Tower, and the Family Safety Center, our work is rooted in the needs of the people we serve.

“This is an exciting milestone,” says Gould. “We are proud of our past, energized by our future, and grateful to the clients and communities who have shaped our story. Ethos is who we are, and who we have always aspired to be.”
