BEDFORD HOUSE, PHILLIPS THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Bedford House at Phillips Theological Seminary is designed to support student life, community, and academic engagement through a residential and gathering environment that fosters connection among students. The 29,445 SF facility includes 25 residential rooms and two one-bedroom apartments for longer stays, and emphasizes shared experiences through thoughtfully designed communal spaces, including a central courtyard, a large kitchen for shared meals, and flexible gathering areas that encourage interaction and relationship-building.
Inspired by traditional cloister forms, the design integrates elements such as stained glass and a prayer labyrinth to reflect the seminary’s history and mission. In addition to residential spaces, the facility includes a conference center capable of hosting lectures and events, as well as dedicated office space for the seminary’s advancement team, creating a cohesive environment that supports both community and institutional functions on campus.
